Why do you prefer to mulch the grass clippings instead of bagging them?

When you have the lawn cut regularly and at the proper height, your lawn is improved by recycling clippings. Landfill space accross Arkansas is being rapidly depleted. Each year Arkansans send over two million tons of solid waste to landfills. Total yard waste makes up 20 percent of this solid waste. Bagged grass clippings account for more than 10 percent of the solid waste going into landfills.


How can mulched grass clippings improve lawn quality?

When mulched grass clippings are allowed to decay naturally on the lawn, they release valuable nutrients which improve the soil. If clippings are mulched, fertilizer applications may be reduced by 30 percent. Mulched grass clippings contribute to the formation of organic matter, which makes the soil softer and more drought tolerant.
